It’s a question that quite a few people are now possibly asking, so what is everyones take on it? Nokia N97 or iPhone 3GS, well.. being a Nokia fanboy I would say the N97 although both phones have some pretty cool features.

iPhone Advantages

  • Intuative interface which is very easy to naviagte
  • Hundreds of applications ready to download from the app store.
  • The fact that you have an “iPhone”

iPhone Disadvantages

  • Apple still haven’t got a native Sat-Nav system inbuilt
  • The fact you have to pay for many applications
  • £15 a month just to tether to your computer?! Nokia has had this for free for years!
  • Cost’s a fair bit, even if on a contract

Nokia N97 Advantages

  • It looks stunning and is said to be a real contender for the iPhone
  • Has the Nokia symbian interface we all know and love
  • It has the features the iPhone still doesn’t have and should have had from the beggining
  • Native Sat-Nav system which works brilliantly!

Nokia N97 Disadvantages

  • O2 still wont give a straight answer about when and inded if they will be stocking it.
  • It’s not an “iPhone” so it doesn’t give you quite the same status symbol
  • Maybe not as many apps as widely available as the iPhone

Overall, they are both brilliant phones and I’m still trying to decide what to get when its upgrade time for me in October, but at the moment it’s looking like I’m going to go for the Nokia N97
